Prompt and professional wound care is essential to help prevent infection and ensure proper healing. At UHealth Jackson Urgent Care – Country Walk, we can provide immediate medical attention for a variety of cuts and wounds, from minor lacerations to animal bites and everything in between.
For wounds that involve uncontrolled bleeding, it’s important to head directly to an emergency room. However, in non-life-threatening situations, patients can receive expert wound care at UHealth Jackson Urgent Care. Our board-certified, UHealth – the University of Miami Health System physicians are standing by to treat:
- Puncture wounds
- Sports injuries
- Closed wounds and crush injuries
- Abrasions (non-bleeding wounds involving the upper layers of the skin)
We provide wound care services to both adults and children, and no appointment is ever necessary – you can just stop by our Country Walk facility to receive prompt and professional medical attention. Stitches, sterilization, antibiotic treatment (if necessary), and tetanus shots are all offered as part of our wound treatment program.
Additionally, should X-rays or other diagnostic tests be required for appropriate wound care, we offer on-site imaging services and lab testing to help streamline the process. For instance, it’s often necessary to check for broken bones that may not be immediately apparent in the event of a closed wound caused by a collision injury. At UHealth Jackson Urgent Care, our team can ensure that all of a patient’s needs are addressed during a single visit.
