Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
Jackson Health System, along with our partners at the University of Miami Health System, is monitoring the spread of COVID-19. We are working closely with state and federal health officials and have activated special protocols for major outbreaks.
PUBLIC HEALTH INFORMATION
COVID-19 testing at Jackson is only provided for patients meeting specific protocols. Anyone who believes they need a test should call their primary-care physician or the Florida Department of Health at 866-779-6121. Emergency rooms should be reserved for patients with serious symptoms.
MESSAGE FROM OUR LEADERSHIP
Any patient experiencing serious symptoms of COVID-19 can seek emergency treatment at any hospital emergency room, including any Jackson facility.
Visitation is suspended for most patients at most facilities. We encourage the use of phone calls, electronic messages, and videoconference.
Pediatric, maternity, and inpatient rehabilitation patients may have one healthy visitor, and additional exceptions can be requested to hospital administration for special circumstances.
Visitors will be asked about their recent travel history, physical symptoms, and interactions with others who may be positive for COVID-19. Visitors may be denied entry and required to leave the facility based upon these criteria. Visitors may not bring any type of bag into the facility and may be required to have their temperature taken before entering.
All visitors must be at least 12 years old. Children age 11 and younger will not be admitted.
For the safety of our staff and visitors, valet parking has been temporarily suspended at the main entrance to Jackson Memorial Hospital and the Emergency Department entrance for Jackson Memorial and Holtz Children’s Hospital.
Transplant patients are especially concerned about COVID-19. Click here for detailed information from The Miami Transplant Institute.
JACKSON PRIME MEMBERS
