Mono Treatment in Miami-Dade
If you or your child has been feeling extremely fatigued, you may have mononucleosis — more commonly known as “mono.” It’s a common viral illness, especially among teens and tweens.
You can walk in to any nearby UHealth Jackson Urgent Care center without an appointment. You’ll be seen quickly by an urgent care doctor who can help determine if mono or another illness is making you feel under the weather.
How Our Urgent Care Can Help
Our doctors and providers can examine you to get more information about how you’re feeling and also perform a mono test, which is needed to confirm the diagnosis.
Each of our urgent care centers has an on-site lab, so results will be available during your visit. If the test is negative, we can check and test for other illnesses, such as the flu.
If you do have mono, the best thing for you is rest. We can also prescribe antibiotics if a bacterial infection is found, and suggest others ways to help you manage your symptoms until you recover.
