COVID-19 Testing Available at Miami-Dade Walk-in Centers

UHealth Jackson Urgent Care is offering three forms of FDA approved COVID-19 testing: COVID-19 PCR test, antigen test, and antibody test.

You can walk in to any of our urgent care centers without an appointment – no prescription required – to receive an FDA approved COVID-19 test.

Test results do not lessen the importance of social distancing or use of cloth face covers or masks. Flu and COVID-19 symptoms can sometimes be similar; our urgent care centers also offer a rapid flu test to help rule things out.

If someone has active symptoms, the test can be given to diagnose or rule out an infection

Not recommended for anyone who has had active symptoms for longer than 5 days

Used to detect signs of prior infection caused by the COVID-19 virus by measuring the level of antibodies in the bloodstream against the virus

The test can tell whether or not someone has the virus before antibodies form

The test has an increased chance of false-negative results because it requires less complex technology

Not for individuals who are still recovering from COVID-19, or who remain sick

Very accurate when properly performed by a healthcare professional

Depending on the situation, medical staff may recommend a PCR test to confirm a negative antigen test result

For the most accurate results, we recommend waiting at least 14 days after possible symptoms or exposure to obtain an antibody test
