Mono Tests Available at Miami-Dade Walk-in Centers
If you or your child has been extremely fatigued, our doctors and providers at UHealth Jackson Urgent Care can test to see if the cause is mononucleosis — also known as “mono.” The viral illness is common, especially among teens and tweens.
You can walk in to any nearby center without an appointment to be seen quickly by a UHealth – University of Miami Health System board-certified doctor and be tested for mono.
How Our Urgent Care Can Help
A lab test is needed to confirm a mono diagnosis. The test can be done through our on-site labs at each of our urgent care centers. We’ll have the results quickly during your visit.
If the mono test is negative, we can run additional tests to check for other illnesses, such as the flu.
If test results confirm a mono diagnosis, the best thing for you is rest. We can prescribe antibiotics if a bacterial infection is found, and offer other suggestions for troublesome symptoms.
