EKG Tests at Miami-Dade Walk-in Centers
All of our UHealth Jackson Urgent Care centers are equipped to provide heart screenings via an electrocardiogram, or EKG, for diagnostic testing and as part of a sports physical.
This simple, noninvasive, and painless test measures the electrical activity of the heart to detect underlying problems, such as a thickened heart muscle (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) or an issue with the heart’s electrical circuit. The data from an EKG test can also help our specialists uncover why you might be experiencing possible cardiac symptoms, such as shortness of breath, dizziness, or heart palpitations.
How Our Urgent Care Can Help
You can walk in to any nearby UHealth Jackson Urgent Care center without an appointment and be seen quickly by a UHealth – University of Miami Health System board-certified doctor if you are experiencing some sort of heart issue.
EKGs are also often required as part of a routine sports physical for children. Parents can count on UHealth Jackson Urgent Care to have their child’s heart tested. All diagnostic tests and EKGs at our urgent care centers are read by a UHealth or Jackson Health System specialist, in addition to the on-site doctor treating you.
If there are concerns about your heart or follow-up care is recommended, we will connect you with a specialist for care.
