Dehydration Treatment in Miami-Dade
Dehydration is caused when you don’t take in enough fluids, or your body is losing more fluids than you are ingesting (such as when you are playing sports in hot weather or sick, especially when you have diarrhea or are vomiting). You may begin to feel dizzy, lightheaded, experience dry mouth, muscle cramps, nausea, and more.
If you’re experiencing signs of dehydration, you can walk in to any nearby UHealth Jackson Urgent Care center without an appointment and be seen quickly by a doctor.
How Our Urgent Care Can Help
Our doctors and providers will perform a full examination and ask about your symptoms. We have on-site labs where we can perform a urinalysis to get a better understanding of what is happening in your body.
Minor dehydration can be addressed by drinking more water or with IV fluids, where the fluids are injected directly into your bloodstream. Severe dehydration can sometimes impair kidney function, and lead to kidney pain and other serious health consequences. It should be treated immediately.
