Skin Repair at Miami-Dade Walk-in Centers

When band-aids are not enough, you can stop in to a nearby UHealth Jackson Urgent Care center for professional skin repair for minor cuts, wounds, and punctures. Cuts and open wounds can be more than just painful annoyances–they can lead to serious infection if not treated quickly and appropriately.

Our urgent care centers are staffed with board-certified doctors from UHealth—the University of Miami Health System, who can see you quickly without an appointment.

How Our Urgent Care Can Help

First, we’ll assess your wound and check to see if there is damage to deeper tissues, such as tendons, muscles, blood vessels, joints, and nerves. We’ll also help thoroughly clean and control the bleeding to try to prevent infection. If the wound shows signs of infections, antibiotics may be used as a treatment option. A tetanus shot update may be in order if the wound resulted from cutting yourself on a piece of metal, an animal bite or insect bite.

When necessary, our board certified doctors can provide sutures, staples or glue as indicated by the extent of the wound. All of our urgent care centers have an on-site lab and digital X-ray capabilities if diagnostic testing is needed.

If your cut or wound is causing uncontrolled bleeding or if there is obvious bone and joint involvement, call 911 or go directly to the nearest emergency room.
